Wrocław Opera holds a special place in my heart as one of my favorite destinations. Renowned as one of the largest and most significant opera houses in Poland, it has been under the distinguished direction of Professor Ewa Michnik since 1995.

Several productions have been awarded both in Poland and abroad, making the Wrocław Opera one of the finest operas in Europe! The opera house opened in 1841.

It is the only opera in Poland that, since 1997, has presented "supershows": spectacles prepared in unconventional, large spaces for thousands of spectators, featuring hundreds of performers and utilizing monumental scenery and special effects.

The opera house was built in 1841 according to the design by Carl Gotthard Langhans. It was renovated twice after the fires of 1865 (by Carl Johann Lüdecke) and 1871 (by Karl Schmidt).
