Did you know that the Petronas Towers are the world's tallest twin skyscrapers? Kuala Lumpur is developing rapidly in both modernity and nature.

The prices for a nice stay are incredible. We stayed in an amazing hotel for $20 per night; the view was stunning for such affordable accommodation. The view was perfect for seeing the Petronas Towers and the tallest buildings, and it was only a 15-minute walk to the city center.

What I really cherish is the kindness, humility, and warmth of the people of Kuala Lumpur; we made many good friends who helped us navigate the city, and we had pleasant conversations with taxi drivers.

We were fortunate to spend Independence Day, August 31st, there; the celebration was enormous with various singers, DJs, and incredible midnight fireworks at the Petronas Towers.

Independence Day, also known as National Day, commemorates the independence of the Federation of Malaya from the British Empire on August 31st, 1957.

The weather was super humid but perfect for nighttime walks. In the morning, we had a surprising visit to the Batu Caves, where upon arrival, you can see the beautiful colors and diversity of monkeys, chickens, and birds. We had to climb 300 stairs to reach the top with its amazing jungle-like view inside.

The cave complex is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, dedicated to Murugan, and is the focal point of the Tamil festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia.

It takes its name from the Malay word 'batu,' meaning 'rock'.
